Bosch Automotive Electronics develops and manufactures microelectronic components and systems. The product range for automotive applications extends from semiconductors and MEMS (microelectromechanical systems) sensors to control units for systems including body electronics, passenger protection, braking control, and engine management.
In addition, multiple subsidiaries offer products for markets outside automotive. Bosch eBike Systems is market leader for eBike drive systems, Bosch Sensortec GmbH is market leader for MEMS sensors in consumer applications. The youngest subsidiary, Bosch Connected Devices and Solutions GmbH, specializes in MEMS sensor-based IoT devices.
Automotive Electronics is headquartered in Germany and has more than 32,000 employees in over 15 countries at more than 35 locations worldwide. As the largest manufacturer of MEMS technology worldwide and one of the biggest suppliers of semiconductors for mobility solutions and IP modules for automotive microcontrollers, we have extensive know-how in designing microelectronics for the automotive and consumer world. Bosch’s system business reflects the needs of our customers and defines the requirements for our application specific electronic components.
Semiconductor components for automotive include power transistors and power modules, system basis chips and highintegrated peripheral system ICs, inertial and pressure MEMS sensors. Semiconductor components for consumer include 3-, 6-, and 9-DOF inertial sensors, VOC sensors, IMUs and sensor hubs.
Since 2012 we develop sensor ICs also in Dresden. Our new 300mm fab in Dresden will be a logical addition to our semiconductor and MEMS fab in Reutlingen, enabling us to supply also in future innovative semiconductors products for automotive, the internet of things and the consumer market.
